a) A Thought
b) Then a Feeling
c) Followed by an Action.
Here’s a valuable tool I use when coaching myself and others:
I call it the “high 5”
Take a look at your hand. The first thing you need to do is put your hand out in the “stop” position. The moment you want to take control of your thoughts and feelings you need to stop and pause for a moment.
Look at your Thumb: This represents how am I feeling?
Look at your Pointer Finger: This represents what am I focusing on?
Look at you Middle Finger: We know this finger can have meaning. What meaning am I giving my thoughts?
Look at your Ring Finger: How are these thoughts or decisions I’m making effecting or may effect my relationships.
Pinky Finger: What small action will I take?
